TreasureHunt Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how TreasureHunt ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TreasureHunt mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (optionally) a profile photo and ZIP code. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier and the email address you choose to share.
• Listings and content: When you create a listing, host a sale, or pin a spot sale, we collect the photos, descriptions, prices, addresses, and other information you provide.
• Messages: Messages sent between buyers and sellers within the App are stored to deliver and display them.
• Reports: If you report a listing or block a user, we store that information to enforce community standards.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location: With your permission, we collect your device's precise location to show you nearby garage sales, calculate distances, and optimize your route. Location is used only while you are using the App. You can disable location access at any time in your device's Settings.
• Camera and photo library: With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can add photos to listings, your profile, and the Snap & Search feature. We only access photos you actively select or capture.
• Device information: We collect basic device information (device type, operating system version, app version) for analytics and crash reporting.

Snap & Search (On-Device AI)

The Snap & Search feature uses Apple's Vision framework to analyze photos directly on your device. Photos analyzed by Snap & Search are not uploaded to our servers and are not shared with any third party for AI processing. The analysis happens entirely on your iPhone.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate the App and show you nearby sales, listings, and events
• To enable messaging between buyers and sellers
• To process and manage your subscription (Seller Pro)
• To detect fraud, scams, and abuse, and enforce community standards
• To send you optional notifications you have opted into
• To improve the App and develop new features

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, and cloud functions. Firebase processes your account data, listings, photos, and messages on our behalf. See Firebase Privacy.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, StoreKit (subscription processing), MapKit (maps), and Apple Vision (on-device image analysis). See Apple Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers.

Subscriptions

Seller Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple shares with us only your subscription status (active, expired, or canceled).

Data Retention

We retain your account information and listings for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), we delete your account information, listings, and messages from our active databases within 30 days. Some information may be retained in backups for up to 90 days, and limited information may be retained longer where required by law (for example, fraud-related records).

Your Rights and Choices

• Access and update: You can view and update your account information at any time in the Profile section of the App.
• Delete your account: You can delete your account and associated data from Profile → Delete Account.
• Location: You can disable location access in your device's Settings.
• Notifications: You can disable notifications in the App's Settings or your device's Settings.
• Camera and photos: You can revoke camera and photo library access in your device's Settings at any time.

Children's Privacy

TreasureHunt is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at kernan6580@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our databases. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to request access to or deletion of your personal information, and to know what categories of information we collect. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
